What does General Warranty do for customers?
General Warranty is uniquely positioned to connect our customers with the best vehicle service coverage for them, while delivering outstanding customer service. GW has developed a proprietary software system allowing us to most effectively identify the warranty coverage which best meets each individual customers’ driving needs. General Warranty is dedicated to helping our customers keep their cars safely on the road longer. As the industry leader, GW has built long term relationships because of our commitment to treating our customers fairly and honestly.
What are your current marketing practices?
General Warranty's company leadership is fully committed to creating a positive experience for each of our customers and prospective customers. GW regularly evaluates our marketing activities to determine those which are most effective, productive and informational to prospective and current customers. We chose to market via traditional marketing and NOT place unsolicited, outgoing marketing phone calls.
How do you deal with customer or prospective customer complaints?
We are thankful we receive few critisms, we value our customers and their total satisfaction comes first! At GW we take our customers' concerns very seriously and seek to resolve all issues immediately without delay. Some of our competitors engage in questionable and deceptive marketing, occasionally these complaints are misdirected to GW by mistaken identity, however, we still work with those individuals to identify the deceptive advertising agency and take immediate action to protect GW’s stellar reputation and the industry as a whole. We are working with our customers and the Better Business Bureau to resolve and properly forward all complaints.
What is the claims process?
When your vehicle breaks down, the last thing you want to have to worry about is how to make a claim. This worry is eliminated with the sophisticated proprietary claims process at GW which is exclusive and revolutionary in the industry. GW’s claims process is not only the fastest solution, but our customers report it is also effortless. To file a claim, you simply have the dealership or ASE service repair facility of your choice contact the claims center to report the claim prior to repairs. The claims representative will walk the service center through the steps to expedite direct payment.
Is General Warranty affiliated with, or are you selling manufacturers or dealer warranties?
Simply put, we are not. However, many dealerships have chosen to offer GW plans to their customers through our dealer warranty program. GW offers vehicle service coverage through well established coverage providers, and its’ own products are backed by the famed Lloyds of London Insurance Company. GW™ vehicle service contracts are backed by third party administrators and insurance companies. GW™ policies are available for most makes and models of vehicles on the roads today. Our protection plans still allow you to use your local dealership or ASE certified garage for your repair work. This provides you with even more flexibility in getting your vehicle repaired, quickly and effortlessly.
My dealer sold me a warranty with my car. Why do I need a new one?
All new car warranties sold by the manufacturers or dealers cover repairs on your vehicle up to a certain point, either in number of years from date of manufacture and/or a certain number of miles, usually whichever comes first. The mileage or age criteria associated with those manufacturer or dealer warranties are usually calculated based on the vehicle’s repair record to minimize the risk to the manufacturer or dealer for repairs. Vehicle service coverage sold by General Warranty (GW™) is designed to pick up where your existing warranty stops or to fill a potential lapse of coverage to ensure your car has the right continuous coverage to fit your budget and avoid unexpected costly repairs. Our protection plans also allow for more flexibility regarding where you have your vehicle repaired, whereas dealer and manufacturer warranties require you to use the repair facility of a dealership which sells your brand of automobile only! You have the luxury to continue using your local dealership or any ASE certified garage, ANYWHERE, at GW™ we call this Total Flexibility in Repair or (TFR) service.
Why would I need a warranty, when I’m pretty handy with engines and cars?
The technology used in vehicles is getting increasingly complicated. Often, computerized diagnostics are required to determine the right corrective action needed for a seemingly simple repair. Repair facilities have sophisticated equipment and technicians that go through comprehensive training to learn how to work on the vehicles on the road today. Why take chances on the integrity of your vehicle potentially causing more complications?
I already have auto insurance. Why do I need a warranty or service contract?
Auto insurance generally covers accidental damages resulting from a collision or from damages resulting from hazards such as fire, theft and vandalism. The components covered in a vehicle service coverage plan are more closely related to the mechanical components of your vehicle. Unless the mechanical components of your vehicle are damaged in an accident, your insurance will most likely not cover the repairs. This is where peace of mind having a GW™ Service contract coverage (warranty) comes in.
Aren't all extended warranties the same? Shouldn’t I just buy the least expensive coverage?
All vehicle service coverage plans are NOT the same. There are different coverage plans with varying levels of coverage to fit a variety of budgets. The least expensive plan will generally provide only basic coverage, leaving you to pay for repairs on many other components of the vehicle. When evaluating the best plan for your situation, you should consider factors such as the option to cancel coverage, monthly payment plans, towing service, rental cars, or interrupted trip benefits. Other factors affecting the price and value of your plan can include the deductible amount and method of payment. At GW™ we stand behind our protection plans with a FULL, no risk, 30 Day money back guarantee, if for any reason you are not completely satisfied. Please ask our representatives about our guarantee and the benefits of vehicle service coverage under GW™ programs. You should ask any other service coverage company whether they will make the same commitment to your satisfaction.
I own more than one vehicle. Can I put them on the same warranty?
Vehicle service coverage plans are vehicle-specific. Each vehicle is different in terms of condition, repair history, and repair costs. In order to provide the right coverage for each of your vehicles, they must be covered by separate vehicle service contracts.
Is my extended auto warranty transferrable?
Absolutely! Most of the vehicle service coverage plans GW™ sells are transferrable when you sell the vehicle to someone else. This feature exclusive to many GW™ plans will certainly increase the resale value of your vehicle by reducing the risk associated with unexpected costly repairs. This is an important feature extending your peace of mind to the next owner of your vehicle.
