News RoomGENERAL WARRANTY PLANS MAJOR NEW MIDWEST WORLD HEADQUARTERS The company is investing more than $18 million to launch a new line of automotive warranty products and vehicle service contracts and has narrowed its site search to major metropolitan areas in Michigan and Ohio. Locations in Illinois and Indiana initially were considered as well. The General Warranty complex will house general-office, technical, customer service and call-center personnel. The facilities are expected to generate more than 400 jobs within the next four months, including senior management positions in finance, technology development and marketing. A company spokesperson added that employment at the new World Headquarters could reach 2,500 or more within the next two-three years. Annual sales of automotive warranties in the United States are estimated at $5 billion. William Ranney, General Warranty’s president and CEO, said details of the company’s new revolutionary automotive warranty products, which will be backed and insured by Lloyd’s of London, will be announced later this year.
